JANUARY 22, 2010 Other Deaths Ralph H. Meserve SACO Ralph H. Meserve, 100, of Saco, passed away Thursday morning on Jan, 21, 2010 at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford. He was born in Saco on Dec. 16, 1909 a son of Benjamin and Josephine Jellerson Meserve.

He graduated from Thornton Academy, Class of 1929. Mr. Meserve was employed by Central Maine Power for 43 years, retiring in 1974. He was a former Deacon and Superintendent of Sunday School of First Parish Congregational Church, where he was a member. Ralph was a member past master of Saco Lodge and a member of the Consistery.

He also was a past patron of Annette Chapter OES and 1 a member of Kora Temple Shrine, He was Ward 4 Councilman in Saco in 1965, a former president of the Square Dancing Association and a member of York County Camper's Association. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and accomplished artist. He spent 32 summers at Salmon Point Campground in Bridgton with his family. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Cleaves Meserve, on June 1, 1998. He was also predeceased by one son, Robert, in 1946; one daughter, Bette Jean Roberge, in 1983; his sister, Ethel Smith; and two son-inlaws, Robie and Philip.

He is survived by: One daughter, Nancy Paquette of Saco; five grandchildren, Catherine, David, Thomas, Christopher and Amy; 13 greatgrandchildren; six great-greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mariette Klimek OLD ORCHARD BEACH Mariette Boucher Klimek, 81, of Old Orchard Beach and formerly of Lewiston, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 in Simsbury, Conn. with her family at her side. She was born on April 14, 1928, raised by her adoptive mother, Augustine Robichaud, and graduated from Stephens High School, Rumford, in 1947.

On Sept. 19, 1970, she married Emil Klimek in Seabrook, N.H. For most of her professional life, she worked in banking as a teller, general ledger bookkeeper, and reconciler for banks such as Depositor's Trust in Maine and the State National Bank of El Paso, Texas. Prior to retirement, she and Emil worked as resident managers for senior housing complexes in Palmyra, N.Y., and Danbury, Conn. Mrs.

Klimek and her husband retired to Old Orchard Beach in 1992, where she worked part time in the store at the Powder Horn campground. Mrs. Klimek was an avid bowler, an activity she enjoyed and excelled at well into retirement. She also enjoyed playing cards socially and staying in touch with her many friends, with the help of Hallmark. Besides her devoted husband Emil, she leaves her loving son, Dr.

Edward A. Thibodeau and his wife, Dr. Gail M. Thibodeau, of Simsbury, and her cherished grandchildren, Bryan J. Thibodeau and his wife, Kate Navarra Thibodeau, of Issaquah, and Alyson M.

Thibodeau, of Tucson, Ariz. She will also be greatly missed by dear family friends, L'Heureux, who was like a second son to her, and his wife, Susan Strauss L'Heureux, of Arlington, Va. JOURNAL TRIBUNE A5 Obituaries Clairina M. Pinette SANFORD Clairina M. (Lang) Pinette, 70, of Sanford, died on Tuesday, Jan.

19, 2010 at Goodall Hospital in Sanford. She was born in Claire, New Brunswick, Canada on June 6, 1939 to John and Leona McDonald Lang and attended local schools. When she was a young girl, she would sing French songs on a local radio station. In 1960, she married Clarence Pinette and together the couple raised five sons. They moved to the United States in 1972 first moving to Terryville, Conn.

and then finally settling in Sanford in 1982. She enjoyed caring for her family, knitting, cooking, bowling, listening to country music and going dancing at the AMVETS with her husband. She also enjoyed spending time with her sister, Juliette (Lang) Levesque on trips to Foxwoods. She was preceded in death by: Her husband of 47 years, Clarence Pinette; and a brother, Clarence Lang. She is survived by: John and Victoria Pinette of Springvale, Tom Pinette of Sanford, Scott and Sandy Pinette of Sanford, Jeff Pinette of Sanford and Paul Lenny Pinette of Sanford; a sister, Juliette (Lang) Levesque of Sanford; and six grandchildren.

Norman Girard SANFORD Norman Girard, 78, of Sanford, died Wednesday at Maine Medical Center in Portland as a result an automobile accident in Sanford. He was born in St. Anne, New Brunswick, Canada on May 15, 1931, a son the late George and Le'da Girard. At a young age he trained to become an amateur boxer. After attending trade school he worked for many years as a welder with the International Union of Operating Engineers.

He was a 3rd and 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Old Orchard Beach Councils. He was also a communicant of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish in Sanford. He was preceded in death by: His granddaughter, Tiffany Webber; two sisters, Annette and Rina; and a brother, Clairemont. He is survived by: His daughters, Denise Webber of Dexter, Theresa Roy and her husband, Scott of Biddeford, Amy Fournier and her husband, John of Saco, and Sara Spencer of Rockland; three sisters, Georgette, Albertine and Yvonne; one brother, Gerard and nine grandchildren.

Roger J. Marin LYMAN Roger J. Marin, 69, of Beech Street in Lyman, died Monday, Jan. 18 after a long battle with diabetes. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his beloved pet dog, Peggy.

He is survived by: Three sisters, Lilian Hall of Biddeford, Doris Erdman of Edgewater, and Betty Bisson of New Smyrna Beach, four brothers, Wilmer Marin of Madawaska, Walter Marin of Old Orchard Beach, Delsey Marin of Amston, and Joseph Albert Marin of Manchester, and his longtime neighbor and caregiver, Robert Stevens. Obituaries Gerard E. Daniels NORTH WATERBORO Gerard E. Daniels, 72, of North Waterboro, died Thursday at the Goodall Hospital in Sanford after at brief illness. He was born in Westbrook on Dec.

8, 1937, a son of Aimee and Claudia (Lemieux) Daniels. He attended Westbrook schools. He went to work in the Dana Warp Mill in Westbrook, then was employed with the S. D. Warren paper mill for 35 years, retiring several years ago.

In his retirement, he worked at several odd jobs. His first priority was his family, but he also enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to go camping, fishing and hunting. He traveled to Canada to go Caribou hunting and also traveled to Alaska. He also enjoyed woodworking.

He was a former communicant of St. Hyacinth's Church in Westbrook. A resident of North Waterboro for 10 years, he had resided previously in Lyman and Standish. He was preceded in death by: One son, Dennis Daniels, in 2005. He is survived by: His wife of 52 years, Ann (St.

21, 1967. Betty was an avid and talented tennis player. She was on several USTA teams in New Hampshire over the years and was often the club champion at Fortunes Rocks in Biddeford, Maine. She and Tom have split their time between Biddeford and Bedford, N.H. for the past 27 years.

Tennis was a great love of hers and she made many close friends through it. Her first love, however, was God. She was a committed Christian and lived her faith i in an exemplary way every day. She was a strong supporter of pro-life causes and a crisis pregnancy center counselor for many years. She and Tom were very active in New Life Church in Biddeford.

She leaves behind her husband of 42 years, Thomas M. Parks; a son, Michael Thomas Parks and his wife Suzanne of Medfield, Mass; and a daughter, Kathryn Louise (Parks) Dorst and her husband Dave of Leesburg, a brother, Thomas Dixon and his wife Pauline of Wellesley, six grandchildren, to whom she was "Grammy," Kaitlin and Ryan Parks of Medfield, Mass. and Miles, Wesley, Alayna and Natalie Dorst of Leesburg, her (and Tom's) stepmother, Lee (Barrett-Parks) Dixon of Avon Park, as well as several nieces and nephews.
